Cake molds are usually made of aluminum because of its good thermal conductivity and even heating, which is beneficial for baking. At present, baking molds on the market can be divided into metal materials, porcelain materials, fiberglass materials, and silicone rubber materials. There are generally two types of materials for molds, aluminum alloy and aluminum plating: aluminum alloy is a relatively lightweight material with fast thermal conductivity; Aluminum plating is relatively heavier and does not have the same thermal conductivity as aluminum alloy.
As for coatings, there are generally anodes, non stick coatings, and hard coatings. Anodes are more resistant to chemical corrosion, non oxidizing, and hygienic; Non stick coatings are generally used for baking trays, toast boxes, and small cake molds, characterized by easy demolding, better thermal conductivity than anodes, and so on; The coating of dura mater is generally used for cake molds. The characteristic of dura mater is that it is harder than ordinary cutting tools and less prone to scratching.
